Sage Corps Joins 1871’s Inaugural Advanced Member Program for Fast-Growing Companies

In fall of 2013, Sage Corps was born at 1871, Chicago’s leading startup incubator and tech hub. 1871 was instrumental to our growth in many ways. Weekly workshops and office hours with mentors offered guidance and insights about key building blocks of our business; visits from foreign diplomats helped us access countries that would later become Sage Corps markets, such as Ireland, Germany, France, Mexico, and Hong Kong.

At 1871, we found a strong local community with a global reach that was crucial for our company’s growth. Today, our Chicago-based team manages programming in 15 global cities on 5 continents.

We’re excited to announce that now, more than four years later, Sage Corps has been selected to participate in 1871’s new Advanced Member Program (AMP) for fast-growing companies. We’ll be joining a group of fellow later-stage 1871 companies – including our startup partners Peanut ButterPeopleVineSparkl, and TraknProtect – for six months of development resources, workshops, and mentorship designed to help us reach our next level of goals.

Our CEO, Matt Meltzer, had this to say about the news:

1871’s past support helped Sage Corps grow from a pilot program in one city with 5 college students to 350 students in 15 global cities on 5 continents. As we look ahead to Sage Corps 2.0, our team is humbled and excited to work closely with 1871’s leadership, mentors, fellow entrepreneurs, and broader community.

Thank you to 1871 for this incredible opportunity. We can’t wait to get started!
