SANTIAGO, CHILE

Santiago sits in a valley surrounded by the picturesque Andes mountains. The city is alive during the week with university and business life. The weekends, however, offer the beaches and mountains in close proximity for a variety of outdoor activities. Explore the city neighborhoods close by or the countryside by foot, ski, or on water. Use Santiago as the inspiration for work connected to the cityscape or the rocky mountains around.

With tremendous help from its national government, Santiago has emerged as a leading startup ecosystem in South America. Known as Chilecon Valley, Santiago hosts hundreds of foreign entrepreneurs each year who launch new companies there with attractive financial incentives from Startup Chile. The government-backed program has helped create new jobs and economic development for the region.
